Our drive began Tuesday morning, me driving the van and Joseph driving the moving truck and car. It was to take 3-31/2 days, but instead took 5+days. We hit a storm, a bad bad bad one. The next post will tell more on that. The first night we only made it to Page, AZ. Just a bit less mileage than what we were hoping to make. The best route to take would have been on I-80, but that would have taken us through Colorado and Nebraska, the snow storm states. We didn't want to do that since Joseph's brother just had problems driving through there. Go south we thought, and avoid all the snow. Great idea, except we didn't avoid the snow. Flagstaff was supposed to be the only possible snowy area. So we weren't to surprised to see this Wednesday morning. It actually was kind of pretty and peaceful driving through this (the grand canyon area) at 7am.
Can you guess where this is? It is not water, it's clouds. I commented to Joseph how nice it looked and he said he thought it was the Grand Canyon. If so, it was filled up to the brim with clouds. An unusual sight to see there, but still pretty.

We ended that night in Tucumcari, TX. And that is when and where the nightmare began.
